Cummins fuel injector

Injectors for Cummins diesel engines. Injector numbers are superseded fairly often, so we cross-check the number on the old unit before quoting rather than going by engine model alone.

What to send us

The number stamped on the old part is the quickest route. If it has worn off, the engine or genset model and serial number usually gets us there. Photos help more than descriptions.

We cross-check whatever you send against the OEM catalogue and confirm the match with you before anything ships.

About this range

An injector that is not atomising properly shows itself before it fails outright. The usual signs are a rough idle, a misfire under load, white smoke from unburnt diesel leaving the exhaust, harder starting from cold, and fuel consumption that has crept up without the work changing.

What the symptoms will not tell you is which injector. A rough idle with white smoke can be one bad unit or four, and the only way to be certain is a cylinder cut-out test on the engine or a bench test of the injector itself for spray pattern and opening pressure.

Injector part numbers supersede more often than most parts on the engine, and a number that was current five years ago may now be filled by a different one. We check the number off the old injector against the OEM catalogue rather than quoting from the engine model, because one engine model can take more than one injector depending on the build.
