Sensors & Switches

Temperature sensor

Coolant and oil temperature sensors, senders and switches for diesel engines. Send the sensor's number and tell us what it feeds, since the output has to suit the gauge or controller reading it.

What to send us

The number stamped on the old part is the quickest route. If it has worn off, the engine or genset model and serial number usually gets us there. Photos help more than descriptions.

We cross-check whatever you send against the OEM catalogue and confirm the match with you before anything ships.

About this range

As with pressure, there are two devices. A temperature switch closes at a set temperature and trips an alarm or a shutdown. A sender changes resistance with temperature so a gauge or a controller can read the value continuously, and most of those are thermistors, while RTD types appear where accuracy matters more.

A sender that has drifted gives a gauge reading that looks plausible and is wrong, which is worse than one that fails outright. If a set is shutting down on high coolant temperature while the engine feels normal and the radiator is clear, the sender is worth testing against a thermometer before anything is stripped.

Order by thread, range, and switch or sender. Engine model alone does not identify one, because the same engine carries several depending on what the panel expects.
